Language Flagship Delegation from Washington-DC Visits São João del-Rey

On May 4th, UFSJ had the honor to receive Dr. Michael Nugent, Director of the Defense Language and National Security Education Office from the United States, Dr. Christopher Powers, Director of Education Abroad Programs at the Institute of International Education, and Ms. Kaveri Advani, Program Manager for The Language Flagship, as well as Dr. Robert Moser, Director of the Portuguese Flagship Program at UGA, and Dr. Richard Gordon, Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute at UGA.

During this site visit, these representatives participated in meetings and events with the UFSJ president and vice-president, professors, and Flagship staff. They also met the Cohort 4 students and participated in some of their Flagship classes. Cultural visits were also part of this trip, and our visitors were able to have a taste of what São João del Rei has to offer in terms of food, music, and history.
